Det har varit hård åtgång på IKEAs smarta pluggar och många har köpt på sig pluggarna och sitter nu i stugorna runt om i Sverige och väntar på HomeKit.
IKEA har gjort ett uttalande om saken och meddelar att förseningarna beror på en större uppdatering av firmware till deras gateway. IKEA jobbar på att förbättra prestandan och stabiliteten och varje gång de gör en uppdatering av firmware så måste även certifikatet för HomeKit förnyas. Detta har kort och gott gjort att IKEA väntar med HomeKit-stödet tills de är helt nöjda med sin gateway men inom ett par veckor så kommer HomeKit-stöd att komma.
Uppdateringen kommer lanseras OTA (over the air) till vissa utvalda marknader men kommer skeppas ut globalt ett par dagar senare, nedan kan ni se hela IKEAs meddelande.

The reason behind the delay of the HomeKit support for the control outlet is the new Gateway firmware that we are working on. We are doing major updates on the Gateway to increase performance and stability and when we do certain updates on the firmware the HomeKit certification needs to be renewed.The release is still a couple of weeks away and we will release OTA to selected markets first, followed by a global release a few days later. This is normal release procedure when dealing with global rollouts. I don’t have any information about which markets will be part of which release but everyone can expect a firmware update very soon!
We are excited to bring you the new Gateway firmware but also very sorry for the delay!
