Det finns nog ingen som har missat att GDPR gick live igår och det tog inte många timmar innan en anmälan gjordes mot både Facebook och Google.
Anmälan gjordes av Maximilian “Max” Schrems som driver den österrikiska organisationen “None Of Your Business” och dom anmäler Facebook och dom Facebook-ägda tjänsterna Instagram och WhatsApp samt Googles operativsystem Android. Maximilian Schrems säger:
“It’s simple: Anything strictly necessary for a service does not need consent boxes anymore. For everything else users must have a real choice to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’, Facebook has even blocked accounts of users who have not given consent, In the end users only had the choice to delete the account or hit the “agree”-button — that’s not a free choice, it more reminds of a North Korean election process.”
Om ett företag anses bryta mot GDPR kan man bötfällas med upp till 20 miljoner euro eller 4% av företagets årsomsättning.
