Amazons vd, Jeff Bezos är allergisk mot PowerPoint-presentationer och har nu förbjudit sina anställda att hålla presentationer som är gjorda i PowerPoint.
Han vill istället att presentationer ska skrivas som en berättelse och dessa ska delas ut under mötet, sen när alla har läst klart så diskuterar man tillsammans. Detta framgår i ett brev som Amazon har skickat ut till sina aktieägare där det står:
We don’t do PowerPoint (or any other slide-oriented) presentations at Amazon. Instead, we write narratively structured six-page memos. We silently read one at the beginning of each meeting in a kind of “study hall.” Not surprisingly, the quality of these memos varies widely. Some have the clarity of angels singing. They are brilliant and thoughtful and set up the meeting for high-quality discussion. Sometimes they come in at the other end of the spectrum.
Att hålla möten på ett berättande sätt är inget nytt och flera påstår att det är betydligt lättare för människor att ta till sig information om den berättas som en historia.
